Endwave was originally incorporated in California in 1991 as Endgate Corporation and re-incorporated in Delaware in 1995. In March 2000, we merged with TRW Milliwave Incorporated. In connection with the merger, we changed our name from Endgate to Endwave Corporation. This merger made us one of the largest commercial suppliers of microwave and millimeter-wave RF subsystems. On October 17, 2000, we successfully completed the IPO of our common stock. Since then, Endwave has maintained our leadership in wireless telecom, while also diversifying into many non-telecom markets–primarily defense electronics and homeland security systems. This growth has occurred through internal research and development and through acquisitions completed over the past SEVEN years. These include the Stellex Broadband business from M/A-COM, Inc. (a division of Tyco Corporation), the Fixed Wireless Division of Signal Technology Corporation, a product line from the broadband business of Arcom Wireless, Inc. (a subsidiary of Dover Corporation), defense synthesizer (MTS-2000) assets from Verticom, Inc., amplifier products through the acquisition of JCA Technology from Bookham Technology, plc, and log amplifiers plus other integrated subsystems from ALC Microwave, Incorporated. These acquisitions expanded our customer base, significantly increased our product portfolio, and added depth to our employee team.
In 2005, we formed our Defense & Security operation. This dedicated team of engineers, directors, and program managers supports the specific requirements of our defense and homeland security customers. Their mission is to ensure the higher level performance, packaging, and testing, that is required by these demanding hi-rel applications.
